About Our Pastor

Glenn Gunderson
Senior Pastor

Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Glenn Gunderson has been Senior Pastor of the 5,000-member Pomona First Baptist Church since 1993. During this time the church has more than doubled in size.

Glenn grew up in Prince George, Virginia and graduated from Wheaton College in Chicago and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston. He was senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Homer, New York (now Grace Christian Fellowship) for twelve years from 1981 – 1993.

Glenn's first love in life, outside of Jesus, is his wife and six children. His wife, Kimberly, is a dynamic Bible teacher and conference speaker. She was born and raised in upstate New York and graduated with a history degree from Boston University. Kimberly has a heart for urban outreach and is currently the founder and CEO of “Pomona New Community,” an after-school program for at-risk youth.  She is also working on her Master’s degree at Fuller Seminary.  Glenn and Kimberly are passionate about children in need and are involved in the promotion of adoption and foster care. Since launching their four oldest children off to college, their days are full with their two youngest children who are still at home.

Glenn has written a book entitled “Biblical Antidotes to Life’s Toxins,” which is filled with practical advice from the Bible for dealing with life’s toxins – stress, loneliness, anger, discouragement, jealousy, etc.  He is currently writing a new book on “Fourth Quarter Fumbles” with the subtitle “Keys to Finishing Well.”
Matthew 6:33 is a powerful scripture in Pastor Glenn's life. He says, "When I trust God enough to pursue His agenda for my life first, it's amazing how everything else falls into place!"

In his "off time" Glenn enjoys reading, running/walking, weightlifting (don't laugh!), and family time with his wife and children.
